Inter Miami Welcomes Casemiro
Inter Miami CF has announced the signing of Brazilian international midfielder Casemiro. The five-time UEFA Champions League winner joins the club as a free agent. His contract extends through the conclusion of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, with an option for an extension until June 2029. The move is pending receipt of his P-1 Visa.
Casemiro expressed his motivation, stating that winning and continuous growth are key drivers for him. He highlighted the significance of the club’s presented project and the efforts made to bring him to Miami. He also conveyed gratitude and eagerness to repay the trust shown by the club through his performance in training and on matchdays.
A Decorated Career in Europe
Casemiro arrives in South Florida following a distinguished career at the highest levels of football. He spent the last three seasons with English Premier League side Manchester United, where he contributed to securing an English League Cup and an FA Cup title. During his time at Old Trafford, he scored in the League Cup final victory in 2023 and reached two FA Cup finals, winning the competition in 2024. He was also part of the United team that reached the Europa League final in May 2025.
Before his spell in England, Casemiro had an eight-year tenure with Spanish side Real Madrid CF. There, he established himself as a top defensive midfielder, winning numerous titles including five UEFA Champions League titles, three UEFA Super Cups, three FIFA Club World Cups, three LaLiga championships, one Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Super Cups. Across eight seasons with Real Madrid‘s first team, he made 336 appearances, recording 31 goals and 29 assists.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Casemiro began his professional career at São Paulo FC at 18 years old in 2010. He moved to Europe in 2013 to join Real Madrid, initially playing for Real Madrid Castilla. After a loan spell with FC Porto during the 2014-15 campaign, he returned to Madrid and became a cornerstone of the club’s successful era.
International and Club Ambition
On the international stage, Casemiro has been a consistent presence for Brazil for over a decade, earning 91 caps. He helped the nation secure the 2019 Copa América title and represented Brazil at the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups. Most recently, he featured for Brazil at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, starting all five matches and contributing a goal in the Round of 32 and an assist in the Round of 16.

The acquisition of Casemiro’s Discover Priority was made from the LA Galaxy, further bolstering Inter Miami‘s squad with a player known for championship pedigree, leadership, and invaluable experience.
