Las Vegas hosts UFC 329 rematch between McGregor and Holloway

Public backing McGregor but the bigger bets are on Holloway for UFC 329 main event

Conor McGregor and Max Holloway have successfully completed their weigh-ins for their highly anticipated rematch at UFC 329. The event is set to take place on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. This marks McGregor’s first mixed martial arts bout in five years, while Holloway will be making his debut in the welterweight division.

McGregor, a former two-division UFC champion, weighed in at 170.5 pounds. Holloway, a former featherweight titleholder, registered 170 pounds on the scales. Their weigh-in occurred on Friday, following a heated press conference faceoff that saw McGregor snatch and break Holloway’s sunglasses.

The two fighters previously met in 2013, early in their respective UFC careers. In that initial encounter, McGregor secured a victory over Holloway via unanimous decision. This upcoming bout is being described as a rematch 13 years in the making, headlining UFC International Fight Week in Las Vegas.

Undercard Highlights and Weigh-in Results

Beyond the main event, several other fighters also made weight for their respective bouts at UFC 329. In the co-main event, lightweight contenders Benoît Saint Denis and Paddy Pimblett both weighed in at 156 pounds, meeting the non-title lightweight limit for their showdown.

Olympic champion Gable Steveson also weighed in for his much-discussed UFC debut. Steveson, considered a top prospect in the sport, came in at 241 pounds for his heavyweight collision against Elisha Ellison, who weighed 236 pounds. Former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker made weight at 205.5 pounds for his light heavyweight debut against Nikita Krylov, who also weighed 205.5 pounds.
